Our HCISD Ambassadors had the chance to step into the shoes of a "Student for a Day" and experience a day filled with hands-on learning and exciting activities!
From outdoor learning adventures at HCISD Early Childhood Academy, to learning Mandarin Chinese and ASL at Vernon Middle School World Languages Academy, to assembling a computer at Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy, it was a day full of new experiences and valuable skills.
Thanks to all the schools for making this a memorable and impactful day for our Ambassadors!

Our 5th graders are taking over Harlingen High School South for their Annual Science Day, gearing up for STAAR testing!
Students are diving into mind-blowing experiments with fire, ice, force, resistance, and bubbles, and more!

This weekend, our incredible students took the stage at the UIL One Act Play competition, competing against eight amazing schoolsāand we made it to the TOP 3! š We finished in 3rd place, and we couldnāt be prouder of the hard work, dedication, and passion these students poured into this production.

STAAR testing is coming up, and we want to ensure a smooth testing environment for all students. Please take note of the following:
š No Lunch Deliveries
We will NOT be accepting lunch deliveries for students on their assigned testing days. Please plan accordingly. Check the schedule below for your childās testing date.
š Electronic Device Policy
Per HCISD policy, students are not allowed to have personal electronic devices (including cell phones and smartwatches) during state testing. Devices must be turned off and turned in to the test administrator until all students have completed testing. A violation could result in disciplinary action and test invalidation.

We are proud to announce that our talented student, Annalise Phothirath, was recognized on March 9, 2025, at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin! She received a diploma and a medal for her outstanding artwork, which was displayed as part of the Youth Art Month Spring Exhibition. Her piece was selected as one of 170 from over 600 entries!
We wish Annalise the best of luck as her artwork is still in the running to be showcased in Governor Greg Abbottās office. Out of the 170 selected pieces, Mrs. Cecilia Abbott will choose only 16 to be displayed for a year.
