Our Harlingen CISD Child Nutrition Department will be providing free meals to children 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old with healthy summer meals. (No income requirements or registration required). š

We hope you are all gearing up for a fantastic summer! This year, our Summer Reading assignment for current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Honors students has been modified. Here's what you need to know:
š Summer Reading Assignment Details:
Who: Current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Honors students.
What: Students are select an appropriate book of their choice.
Task: Create a book sales pitch to be presented the first week they return to school.
š¤ Presentation Schedule:
Next year's 7th and 8th grade students: Submit/do their book sales pitch the first week they return to Moises V. Vela Middle School.
Current 8th grade Honors students: Submit theirs at Cano or the specialty school they will attend.
Note: Rising 6th graders will not be required to do summer reading at this point.
