Over the last two weeks, our Harlingen CISD Guardians have taken part in active shooter trainings. 🛡️ Thank you to our law enforcement partners–U.S. Border Patrol, Texas DPS State Troopers, Constable Precinct 2, Constable Precinct 3, and Constable Precinct 5—for helping us provide a realistic multi-agency drill. 👮‍♂️ These trainings help everyone involved practice working together as a joint response team in order to provide the highest level of safety for students and staff. 🚔🤝

In May, we hosted a welcome dinner to kick off our Hook'Em Here: Harlingen summer program! 🤘😎🤘 Students had a chance to mingle with our HCISD Board Members, senior team, college professors, and community members. ✨ This summer, students will have an opportunity to be immersed in the teaching profession by helping with our Summer ACE Program at Bonham Elementary and Gutierrez Middle School. ☀️🏫🍎 We are proud to partner with The University of Texas at Austin and The College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin on this wonderful initiative! 🙂

Free Summer Meals are here!! ☀️🥪🍎🥤 Our Harlingen CISD Child Nutrition Department will be providing free meals to children 18 and younger and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old with healthy summer meals. (No income requirements or registration required). 😊 Please see schedules below. Meals will be served at 33 sites district wide. 👏👏

Friends, family, and our Harlingen community! Join us on Saturday, May 11th, as we kick off summer with a Harlingen CISD BBQ Cookoff featuring BBQ teams from our secondary campuses! 🔥🍗🥩 Students will be preparing food for judges to taste, come cheer on and support our teams to see who will be named the Harlingen CISD Grill Masters!🏆🙂
