A common misconception among freshmen students is that there are no scholarships available to them.  This is incorrect.  There are scholarships available for students as young as 12 years old.  Students should be proactive in researching scholarship opportunities online.

Scholarships are usually on a first-come first-served competitive basis.  This is why it's very important for students to monitor and maintain their GPA and class rank.   

Some universities will review admissions applications for scholarship selection while others will require separate scholarship forms to be submitted.
